Kantele-GO! meeting at the Karelian College of Culture and Arts

Aimed at achieving the Kantele-GO! project goals that include promoting kantele music among young people, the Kantele Ensemble arranged the meeting at the Karelian College of Culture and Arts.

The Kantele-Go! project manager Olga Vlasova presented  the Karelia CBC program and the project results to the college students, while the project art director Vyacheslav Ivanov introduced kantele instruments and traditional tunes.

First-year students of the Folklore Theatre course got to know main features of kantele performing in Finland and Karelia and different types of kantele.  5- string kantele, Saarijarvi kantele and chromatic kantele were introduced through the project videos from the kantele master course and the Concert Tour 2019.  The videos illustrated the results of collaboration between kantele players and teachers from Finland and Karelia.

Project  partners: The Karelian National Song and Dance Ensemble Kantele (Russia), University of Eastern Finland, Runosong Academy (Finland), National School of Arts named after V. Kalaberda of Pryazha District (Russia).
