Culture Open Closing Seminar presented project results!

Culture Open –project Closing Seminar was organized on Thursday, February 18, 2021. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the seminar was organized on the Zoom-platform, while simultaneously interpreted in Finnish and in Russian. The technical aspects of the seminar were facilitated by the production company Korpipaja. Speakers of the seminar included project partners, stakeholders, target group members and the Russian representive of the Karelia CBC –programme, Dmitry Bazegsky, who spoke about future funding programmes for cross-border cooperation.

Welcoming speeches were given by the Lead Partner representative Anton Posudnevskiy (KRICPE), Deputy Director of the Petrozavodsk cultural services Natalia Beregova, and the acting Director of Culture in the City of Joensuu Leena Hoppania.

Project Manager Elizaveta Druzhinina presented the upcoming Best Pratices –publication, which will include the inclusive co-creation model for enabling cultural participation for disabled and immigrant target groups. Meanwhile, Project Coordinator Henna Karhapää gave presentations on accessible communication and the accessibility mappings that have taken place in Joensuu.

Overall, the Closing Seminar was a successful look into a productive project. During its project period, Culture Open has truly succeeded in making cultural services more inclusive and accessible in both Joensuu and Petrozavodsk!
