Capacity building programme Business Skills for Craftsmen has started on both sides of the Russian-Finnish border in the format of webinars. 75 selected participants total from the Republic of Karelia, North Karelia and Oulu region will raise their entrepreneurial skills in marketing, networking, branding and internationalizing. First webinar of the series of six were launched separately for Finnish and Russian participants on October 7 and 13 consequently. Expert Anu Ruusila from Cordial Communications Oy presented on how to build strong networks by communication. She introduced the idea of comprehensive networking and utilization of networks to business development of a company. 

Later in the fall 2020 Russian and Finnish craftsmen will study how to build a business idea and a business model, how to develop a brand and utilize digital market for the sales. The team of experts for the series is composed mostly of Finnish professionals, however Russian expertise is also represented, for example a lecture on the use of traditional culture in product design by art researcher Ekaterina Rychkova will conclude this year's part of the educational programme. In 2021, project partners are planning to invite participants for offline trainings, workshops and other activities. In addition to webinars craftworkers will be able to interact with lecturers, complete homework and study independently. They will also learn from experienced craft entrepreneurs and from each other.
