Kantele Fusion in the town of Kondopoga

Kantele-GO! started 2021 concerts in the Republic of Karelia with the concert in the town of Kondopoga on February 21, 2021. 

The "Kantele Fusion" concert took place at the local library and gathered the most dedicated kantele lovers. The Kantele-GO! artists played traditional tunes brought from previous project events of 2019  - “Lugumleik” by Hans W. Brimi, arranged by Hanna Ryynänen, and "Mazurkka" by Antti Rantanen, arranged by Eva Alkula and made the onilne translation of "Polun varrella" by Martti Pokela, arranged for two 5 - string kanteles and performed by Minna Raskinen. Along with new music in the Kantele-GO! repertoire some of the old pieces traditionallly performed by the Kantele Ensemble were presented - "Creeping Bindweed", "Sua sytämestäni rakastan" and other. 

Project  partners: The Karelian National Song and Dance Ensemble Kantele (Russia), University of Eastern Finland, Runosong Academy (Finland), National School of Arts named after V. Kalaberda of Pryazha District (Russia).
