Strategic session of PHYTEL project in Joensuu
On the 11-14th of March 2019 the 1st strategic session of micro-project PHYTEL (KA2010 Physical Training Environment for Healthier Life) was held in Joensuu.
Representatives of Petrozavodsk State University took part in a working trip to the city of Joensuu (Finland) and visit the project partner - Institute of Sports of Eastern Finland (ISLO).
During the trip, the participants discussed the progress of the project, visited a number of sports facilities in the city of Joensuu (swimming pool Vesikko, Areena and number of sport gyms) and learned new information about physical education and sport development in Finland.
Currently, research on the awareness of sports facilities and services in Petrozavodsk and Joensuu among people living in and visiting these cities is being conducted . In the spring, project experts will assess the availability of sports facilities for people with disabilities in Petrozavodsk and Joensuu.
The project is being implemented with the support of the Karelia ENI CBC Program, a cross-border cooperation program funded by the European Union, Finland and Russia.
