Winners in "Arrangements for Kantele"

Participants of the Kantele-GO! Competition in Arrangements for Chromatic Kantele were awarded on the New Year Eve at the Kantele House in Petrozavodsk.   

The 1st Prize winners are Vyacheslav Ivanov with the arrangement of the Finnish folk song "Katselin taivaan tähtiä" and Tatiana Trunova with the arrangement of the Finnish traditional tune "Satavuotinen sakka".


The 2nd Prize winners  are Yuri Gladyshev from Kalevala with the arrangement of the music piece "By the River"  and Anna Kovaleva from Kondopoga with the arrangement of "The Northern Dance" by Sergei Stangrit.


The 3rd Prize winner is Nikolai Olshakov from Medvezhegorsk with the arrangment of the Karelian traditional tune "Trepachka". 


Special Prize goes to Marina Lukina from Essoila with the arrangement of the traditional Finnish tune "Engelska".
 
Experts of the competition are 

  • ethnomusicologist Irina Semakova, Honored Artist of the Republic of Karelia, 
  • kantele player Irina Shishkanova, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Karelia,
  • composer Anastasia Salo, Head of the Composers' Association of the Republic of Karelia, the member of the Composers' Association of Russia and the member of the Composers' Association of Finland. 


The Kantele-GO! project is grateful to the experts and the participants of  the competition for their cooperation and contribution to the development of kantele music.
