Working meeting with the "Kantele-GO!" coordinator at Runosong Academy

On February 21, 2019 KanteleGO! project partners met in Petrozavdosk to plan the Kantele Master Course to be held in Kuhmo in June 2019. 

Director of the Runosong Academy Pekka Huttu-Hiltunen and project manager Olga Vlasova discussed the whole range of activities which the Runosong Academy is responsible for during the next three years. Among those are two Kantele Master Courses in Kuhmo in 2019 and 2021, a Kantele Music Laboratory for developing new kantele repertoire and a Concert tour of Finnish and Russian musicians presenting new kantele program in Finland in 2020.

At present, main attention is paid to the quality of teaching at the Kantele Master course in June 2019 and ability to meet the requirements of kantele musicians. A survey conducted among Russian kantele teachers willing to participate in the master course in Kuhmo showed their strong desire to develop their performing techniques such as flagoletti, tikku tyyli, nappailu tyyli and sulku tyyli and learn how to play Finnish concert kantele.
