InterActive History project: Re-designing of exhibitions in participating museums is in full swing

The implementation of the Russian-Finnish InterActive History project is under way in all participating museums in the Republic of Karelia.
The National Museum of Karelia, Petrozavodsk: A binocular with historical panoramas of Round Square (now Lenin Square) and a layout model of Round Square of the late 18th century are installed in the museum. They are both being introduced to the museum visitors. At the same time a renewed interactive exhibition on Round Square is in a testing stage. The museum staff together with the project team and the Arterra Bureau (subcontractors from St.Petersburg) are checking it for possible weaknesses that need to be fixed.

The Olonets National Museum: The concept and the design project of the new exhibition on the history of Olonets and the Olonets Fortress of the 17th – 18th centuries are ready. In January 2020 the museum staff, the project team and the Museum Bureau (subcontractors from Moscow that are supervising over the creation of the exhibition) gathered in Olonets to discuss the next steps. The museum is about to start preparing its premises for the exhibition. The production and installation of the exhibition is scheduled for spring 2020.

The Kurkijoki Local History Center: Major works on preparation of premises for the new historical and archaeological exhibition are under way. In February 2020 the project team together with designers and exhibition creators from the Art and Inventions Community (subcontractors from St.Petersburg) visited Kurkijoki to discuss the details related to the new exhibition, its design and concept, to set the priority tasks and check premises which are currently being prepared for the exhibition. Re-design of the exhibition in the Kurkijoki Local History Center is to be completed by summer 2020.
