Kantele-GO! competition on music arrangements

The Kantele-GO! project has recently finalized the results of the competition on music arrangements for chromatic kantele.  11 participants from Petrozavodsk, Kondopoga, Ulan-Ude, Kalevala and Essoila presented their works to the Karelian National Song and Dance Ensemble "Kantele". A comission of experts -  ethnomusicologist and Honored Artist of the Republic of Karelia  Irina Semakova, kantele player and Honored Artist of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Karelia  Irina Shishkanova, the member of the Composers’ Association of Finland and the head of the Composers’ Association of Republic of Karelia Anastasia Salo, expressed their opinion on the best arrangements. 

1st prize winners 
 Vyacheslav Ivanov with an arrangement of a Finnish folk song "Katselin taivaan tähtiä"
 Tatiana Trunova with an  arrangement of a Finnish traditional tune "Satavuotinen sakka"

2nd prize winners
Yury Gladyshev with an arrangement "At the River"
Anna Kovaleva with an arrangement of a music piece by Sergei Stangrit "Northern Dance" 

3rd prize winner
Nikolai Olshakov with an arrangement of a Karelian traditional tune "Trepachka" 

Special prize
Marina Lukina with an arrangement of a Finnish traditional tune "Engelska"
