LOGOKA-project visited Customs office on the border station of Vartius  31. August.

Even more cargo is now crossing the border than before Covid - pandemic. Daily about 50 trucks are crossing the border both ways. Wood chips imported from

Russia are the most common cargo. In addition, round wood, electronics, and materials for explosives are transported to Finland.  Also, some frozen lingonberries are allowed to import via Vartius.  Daily trail traffic is also high; 1-5 trains with 60 vans are daily passing the border to collect ore from Kostamus.

The electric customs clearance is now operating in both sides of the border.
