New 10-string and 5-string kantele have been purchased by the Kantele-GO! project partner - the National Scool of Arts of Pryazha district - for young musicians in Pryazha, Essoila and Chalna villages in the Republic of Karelia.
12 instruments will be used by schoolchildren during their study of Folk Music for performing traditional tunes and its arrangements as well as new music for kantele by modern composers.
The National School of Arts of Pryazha district will send new instruments to the youth folk ensembles under the leadership of Julia Tolmacheva from Pryazha and Marina Lukina from and Essoila and to the classes of kantele under the supervision of Valentina Chernyakova from Pryazha and Natalia Zubareva from Chalna.
New kantele class by Natalia Zubareva was formed last year once the Kantele_GO! project was launched. This year the class got not only new instruments but also more children interested in kantele! Very soon kantele students of Natalia Zubareva will be ready to arrange the youth kantele ensemble that will please the audience of Chalna village in Pryazha district.
