Workshop day for the 6th grade students of Utra School

North Karelian Museum’s InterActive History project and Utra Residents’ Association organized a workshop day for the 6th grade students of Utra School in Utra on 13 May. The aim of the event was to introduce the local history of Utra in a memorable and inspiring way. The theme was time travelling and the students met characters from the Utra’s history in the workshops. The workshops were about handcrafts and old time manners and cuisine for example. The students also got a chance to visit a lesson in an old-fashioned elementary school. The day included also a visit to the Utra island. There were 58 students participating in the workshop day. The event was very successful and received good feedback from the participants and the Utra school.
