A new exhibition in the National Museum of the Republic of Karelia has opened

National Museum of the Republic of Karelia within the framework of the InterActive History project of the Karelia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme has opened an updated permanent exhibition hall!

The "In accordance with the Empres's Decree" hall, familiar to our regular visitors, is supplemented by the interactive section "The Round Square Stories". The subjects of the 18th-20th centuries from the museum’s collection, found by builders, restorers and museum employees during the repairs and restoration of the buildings of the architectural ensemble, tell stories of the Round Square. This is a series of short stories about historical eras and individual facts; about famous politicians and little-known officials, scientists and poets, architects and engineers who lived and worked in the square; about the sovereigns and grand dukes who visited here during visits to Petrozavodsk. The stories captured in the architecture of the square and the exhibits are supported by video and audio, in the recordings of which the museum staff, actors and musicians, and game modules took part.

The exposition was prepared jointly with the Bureau of ArtTerra.
